This October, Portland Public Schools is testing every second grader in the district to screen for students with high reasoning and problem-solving abilities. The CogAT (Cognitive Abilities Test) is a tool that is used to help identify intellectually gifted students in the district. Schools and teachers may also use this information to decide if a student may need further assessments to help identify advanced academic abilities in math or reading.
Our
school will be testing second graders on October 8th. Please make sure
your child is at school on time that day, as make-ups will not be given.
